Sunrise Photo Shoot: Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

 In EXPLORE

This weekend I did a recce sunrise Photo Shoot to capture Singapore in the beautiful dawn light from several different vantage points around Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands.  It was a beautiful morning.  The light was fabulous and the sky was a beautiful deep blue.

It’s a fairly easy walk from Marina Barrage to Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands, particularly early morning when it’s cooler.  I started at Marina Barrage, then strolled through the gardens, photographing the iconic architecture of Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer as I went.  I then passed through Marina Bay Sands where I captured some interesting shots of the interior architecture, and finished up in front of the Art Science museum where my shoot buddy, Quaratulain, very kindly treated me to a well-deserved cappucino and a delicious pastry at Da Paolo’s.

Here are a few of my favourite photos from the morning…

This was my first shot of the day, taken at Marina Barrage. The sky was still a deep blue colour

This photo was taken from the barrage. There are lots of great photo spots along here and along the Gardens by the Bay East waterfront. I found the floating barrier in the foreground a bit distracting, so I removed it in Photoshop.

I love the striking architecture of the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay and it looked amazing in the dawn light. I took some photos with the light behind me and then I decided to turn around and shoot towards the sun, which also gave me some very interesting photos.

As I moved through Gardens by the Bay there were lots of great photo opportunities

The Interior of Marina Bay is also great to photograph, particularly from the overhead pedestrian walkway that passes through from Gardens by the Bay

I finished my photo shoot in front of Marina Bay Sands and the Art Science Museum.
